Green Onion Garnish

These are easy to make traditional garnishes. Garnishes can bring life to the food. It enhances the appearance and makes it special.

White lilly flowers: Cut root end and the green part off of the green onion and discard. You are now left with the white bulb and the thick white stem. Starting about 1-inch away from from the stem, make several cuts lengthwise, towards the bulb area . Place it in the ice water, until ready to use, the thin cuts will flair out and curl up making it look like a flower. you could use the same technique to make celery flowers.
Green onion curls: Take a piece of green onion about 3" in size. On one side make several cuts length wise. Turn  it to the other end and make cuts length wise, leaving about 1/2 inch in between, where the cuts meet in the middle (so it won't end up tearing apart). Place it in the ice cold water. It will curl up in just few mins.
