okra fry

This vegetable is  known as Okra, Lady's finger or Bhindi.  It is a provider of  good bacteria like probiotics,the same bacteria found in Yogurt.   It is excellent as a laxative, helps relieve constipation.  It has the good amount of fibre, which keeps the digestive track healthy. It is popularly used to make Gumbos in North America.

Okra  -1 lb
Salt to taste
Red chilli pwd - 1 tsp ( adjust according to taste)
Turmeric pwd - 1/4 tsp
Dhaniya pwd - 1 tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp


Wash, dry, cut and fry the Okras with out oil.  when the stickyness is all dried up. It will be half done by that time. Take another pan and pour oil fry the Okras, in just few mins, add all the spices one by one. Its ready to go!  You can do variation by adding the seasoning  with mustard, jeera, curry leaves green chillies and sliced onions. This is simple yet tasty...

Tips: Wash the Okras before you cut them , and dry them with a clean  cloth.
while cutting the Okra, keep an eye for the infestation inside.
