Jeera rice

This is a simple and a great rice recipe.    First time, I had it at a North Indian's party.   She made it real simple with only Jeera and   green peas, and it  tasted so great!  I wanted to improvise it .  When ever I get a chance, I try to incorporate more veggies  in my recipes, to improves the  nutrition and the fibre content.  Goes  well with Vegetarian and non- vegetarian  food/ curries.  You need very little oil in this. You can substitute it with butter, Ghee, margarine to add more flavour.

Ingredients:
Basmati rice - 1 lb cooked 3/4th
Ghee 1 tsp
Jeera - 1/4 tsp
bay leaf
Garam masala whole - 1 tsp
Green peas and carrots - 1/2 cup
Cashews and raisins - few
Salt to taste

Method:
In a dish put the ghee fry jeera, whole garam masala, cashews and raisins. Fry until slightly brown, add veggies, add salt and fry for some time. now add the cooked rice,  and mix it well.  let it sit on a slow flame until the rice is all well done and fluffy.
