I used to wonder why, the hi-fi gourmet restuarants are very particular about the food presentation. It's because, people eat with their eyes. If the food looks good, and well presented, it will derive pleasure and enjoyment to the person having it. A well presented plate brings food to life. An artistic layout of the food on the plate, plays a very important role in winning your guests, and a satisfied diner. The first impression is based largely on the sight. The more presentable it is, the more appetizing it becomes ..
If it is appealing to the eye, it will be appealing to the stomach.
When plating the food, play with the colours, ( contrast is always better) shapes and sizes and add your special decorative touches with the garnishing and you will be all set to amaze your guests!
I would like to share one of my Carrot flowers/ rose with you.
Pick the brightly coloured carrot , wash and peel. Make slices/ round circles of various sizes. Take another 2" piece of carrot. Cut it at 45degree angle , cut off one more little piece just above it to create a slot for the petals. Go around and make the cuts on the carrot and slowly insert the sliced carrot pieces into each slot you created. Bigger ones go at the bottom and the smaller ones goes at the top. Place it immediately in the ice cold water, for about 15 mins, so it can absorb water and stay fresh. It will also curl up to give that special rose like effect.
