Cabbage Pakoda

Cabbage pakoda makes a great vegetarian snack. Goes well with a hot cup of cofee or tea during the evenings; makes a wonderful appetizer/ starter for a great meal. When you feel like eating something warm and crispy on a rainy or a snowy day, cabbage pakoda is a delicious option to tantalize your tastebuds. Getting cozy under a warm blanky in your favourite spot, reading the favorite book with hot tea and warm pakodas on the side..... hmmm ..mmm .. good.

Ingredients:
Cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
Onions - 1, finely chopped
Besan/ chickpea flour - 1cup
Rice flour - 1/4 cup
Green chillies - 3 finely chopped
Cumin - 1/2 tsp
Chilli pwd - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Oil for frying
Curry leaves - 1 sprig, finely chopped

Method:
Take a bowl, mix besan, rice flour, salt and chilli pwd. Add green chillies, onions , cabbage, cumin and mix thoroughly, add couple of table spoons of water( cabbage and onions already has moisture in it) mix well. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and drop it one by one, around 4/5 at a time. Fry it till golden brown. serve hot.

Serving the kids:  Before adding the green chillies and chilli pwd. I make couple of pakodas  and serve the kids. Then, I add my regular ingredients and continue the process. so the kids can enjoy it too..
Reduce the amount of spice instead of totally avoiding it, or it will taste bland.
